The Gem App

I’ve rec’d this secondhand search app to enough friends and interviewers that it’s certainly no undiscovered, ah, gem… but it’s the secret to my sauce, the key to my sartorial success. Use it well!

Thanks to @Kelsey Keith who first introduced me to this app, I use it every dang day.

I evangelize this one to anybody who will listen. Gem lets you search a bunch of vintage and resale platforms at once — including Poshmark, eBay, Etsy, Depop, Mercari, and Grailed — so you can megashop clothes secondhand. I try to buy clothes more sustainably than I used to, and this thing makes circular fashion feel like a breeze. Lately I’ve been using it to save vintage flight jackets for my boyfriend.
